What do you think of further expanding the Steveston Highway bike/pedestrian path?

The bike lane should have been on Williams or better still the South Dike from Two Rd to Five Rd all the way to Iron Wood!!!!

What party would you vote for if a federal election was held today?

No political party is perfect and it is a challenge to try to satisfy everyone’s concerns. I could not vote for Poilivere, he came across as insulting, negative, mean spirited, petulant and disrespectful hardly who I would want representing myself and the rest of Canada. Carney may have his faults we all do, what he does do is come across as respectful, intelligent and more importantly statesmanlike, unlike Poilievre and our neighbours leader south of us.

Police should be focusing on densely populated residential areas, Steveston Village south of Steveston Hwy for example, people recklessly speed down 6Th Ave, the city could care less, even after30KPH signs were installed.

Why just highways on long weekends? Police should be vigilant everyday on every type of street including residential areas.

Good letter regarding speeders in Richmond and the almost total abdication of traffic law enforcement in Richmond. Good luck expecting the city to prompt the RCMP to increase enforcement, meaning actually writing tickets and NOT issuing warnings. The city seems to have more important things to worry about than traffic safety in our community. They seem to be content to be reactive than proactive, waiting for someone to be hurt or killed before doing anything positive.

Had a conversation with an engineer who’s company bid on some of the bridge contracts, he mentioned that it was going to cost near the price of the bridge again to build the entrance and exit ramps at Steveston Hwy because the bridge would be so high at that point. Regardless I favour a tunnel as opposed to a bridge, the traffic noise from a bridge would have been noisy torture for those living near by and those living miles away in any direction.

It seems to me that there are far fewer police dedicated to “ROAD SAFETY” issues today per capita than when I first earned my drivers licence 55 years ago here in Richmond. I think it is fairly obvious that police dedicated to traffic safety have not grown proportionately with population growth in Richmond not to mention the rest of the lower mainland. The horrible driving, the running of yellow and red lights, the running of stop signs, the speeding especially in densely populated residential areas, the failure to signal intentions by using turn signals is indicative of a need for a massive increase in enforcement.
