Based on the sheer mobility it offers, the Canadian passport earned an impressive overall mobility score of 173, showcasing the freedom it grants to its holders. This score is a calculated total based on Visa-free, Visa-on-arrival, Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), and eVisa issued within 3 days.
Canadians can explore 117 countries without the hassle of obtaining a visa, while an additional 50 destinations welcome them with a visa upon arrival. For a select six locations, an eTA is required, while 25 countries require a visa.
Tying in 7th place with Canada is Malta, Estonia, Lithuania, and Slovenia.
Surpassing many others in the race for global mobility, the United Arab Emirates passport claimed the coveted first place on the index, boasting an enviable mobility score of 180. Holders of this passport can seamlessly enter 124 countries sans visa, setting an unparalleled benchmark for global access.
However, the Canadian passport proudly secures its place among the top contenders, standing shoulder to shoulder with its neighbours to the south. The United States passport marginally edges ahead with a mobility score of 174, slightly surpassing its Canadian counterpart.
