Those eager to plan their 2024 outdoor adventures are in luck, Parks Canada is opening up it's online reservation service earlier than in previous years.

According to Parks Canada, visitors will be able to reserve their 2024 camping and accommodations starting in January.

Whether you're looking to book frontcountry, backcountry, or something more on the comfortable side, there are options suitable for every camping style.

Campers should keep in mind that reservation launch dates vary by location and they should check online for the exact date and time that they'll be able to make reservations at their desired park.

Popular parks in BC, for example, will be available to book in January, with reservations for Glacier National Park and Mount Revelstoke National Park opening up for booking on January 19, while Yoho National Park camping sites opening January 23.

Ontario sites, on the other hand, will open a bit later, with Parks Canada camping sites opening for reservations starting February 5. This includes sites in Bruce Peninsula National Park, Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Pukaskwa National Park, and Thousand Islands National Park to name a few.

There are 37 national parks and 10 national park reserves in Canada that represent 31 of Canada's 39 terrestrial natural regions and protect approximately 336,343 square kilometres of Canada's lands.

These wild places, located in every province and territory, range from mountains and plains, to boreal forests and tundra, to lakes and glaciers, and much more.

Parks Canada says has more than 10,000 campsites, including unique diversified accommodations to suit every taste and comfort level.
