From buzzworthy new releases to hidden gems you won’t want to miss, this week’s top streaming picks are serving up something for every kind of binge-watcher.

JustWatch, the go-to guide for all things streaming, is bringing you Canada’s top-streamed movies and TV shows for the week of June 16th to 22nd—and this week features accelerating favourites as well as some picks that are proving tough to contend with. 

The 28 Days Later franchise is showing no signs of stopping; in fact, it took two top spots in most-streamed movies this week. And over in TV, we're seeing Dept. Q hold strong as number one for another week, with shows featuring families with dark secrets following closely behind.

1. 28 Days Later (2003) - Available to stream on Apple TV+: A group of misguided animal rights activists free a caged chimp infected with the "Rage" virus from a medical research lab. When London bike courier Jim wakes up from a coma a month after, he finds his city all but deserted. On the run from the zombie-like victims of the Rage, Jim stumbles upon a group of survivors and joins them on a perilous journey to what he hopes will be safety.

 


 

2. 28 Weeks Later (2007) - Available to stream on Netflix: Six months after the original epidemic, the rage virus has all but annihilated the population of the British Isles. Nevertheless, the U.S. Army declares the danger past, and American soldiers arrive to restore order and begin reconstruction. Refugees return to British soil, but one of them carries a deadly secret: The virus is not gone and is even more dangerous than before.

 

 

3. Warfare (2025) - Available to stream on Amazon Prime Video: A surveillance mission goes wrong for a platoon of American Navy SEALs in insurgent territory in Iraq.
