If your summer plans are starting to take shape, there’s one date you’ll want to mark in your calendar: July 18th.

For one day only, Ontario Parks is offering free day-use access to all operating parks across the province in celebration of Healthy Parks Healthy People Day. That means no entry fees—just an open invitation to explore the trails, beaches, and natural beauty these parks have to offer.

More than just a free pass, Healthy Parks Healthy People Day is part of a global movement that recognizes how time in nature can boost our physical, mental, and social well-being. From reducing stress and anxiety to improving heart health and self-esteem, the benefits of a day outdoors are well worth making time for.

“The time to strengthen and rediscover our connection to nature is now,” shares Ontario Parks. “Ontario’s provincial parks are home to some of the most inspiring and beautiful landscapes in the country. We want to increase the awareness and uptake of the strong benefits linked to spending time in nature.”

Ontario Parks offers a diverse array of programs and facilities to indulge in nature's bounties all year round, regardless of your outdoor experience. Whether you're hiking, cycling, paddling, swimming, or simply basking in the serene landscapes, these activities foster physical health and contribute to overall well-being and happiness.

What is included with the free day use entry?

All visitors will receive a complimentary day-pass to the park, allowing access to park facilities until 10:00 pm on July 18th. Please note that additional charges apply for facilities not included in the day-use pass, such as camping and equipment rentals.

To guarantee your spot, visit Ontario Parks’ reservation service to obtain a daily vehicle permit in advance for one of the many participating parks up to five days in advance of your trip.
