In a resounding affirmation of its stature on the world stage, Canada has emerged as the second-best country in the world for 2023.

The prestigious accolade is part of a comprehensive ranking conducted by U.S. News., communications company WPP, and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

This recognition comes as a result of the "2023 Best Countries rankings," an assessment that scrutinizes a multitude of factors encompassing military strength, economic influence, and the quality of life afforded to its citizens. A meticulous analysis of 87 nations was carried out, drawing insights from the perspectives of over 17,000 individuals representing a global tapestry of cultures and backgrounds.

Respondents were also asked to associate countries with various qualities across ten subrankings, including power, cultural influence, heritage, and social impact. The scores from these associations were used to create a list of the world's top countries, along with nearly 100 other distinct rankings.

In this year's rankings, Canada has taken the second spot, surpassing Germany, due to its outstanding performance in agility, according to the report. However, it still trails behind Switzerland as the best country in the world in 2023.

Canada ranks first for several attributes, including racial equity," reads the report.

Switzerland continues to hold its position as the best country in the world for the second consecutive year and the sixth time overall. Sweden took third place, with top scores in the social purpose and quality of life subrankings, followed by Australia in fourth.
