Mark your calendars: McDonald's Canada has announced the triumphant return of a beloved classic — the McRib.

After a decade-long hiatus from Canadian menus, the iconic sandwich is set to make a comeback on Tuesday, January 30th, gracing McDonald's restaurants nationwide for a limited time.

With its tender boneless pork patty bathed in tangy BBQ sauce, adorned with slivered onions and zesty pickles, all nestled within a toasted homestyle bun, the McRib has achieved legendary status among loyal brand enthusiasts.

Originally introduced to the McDonald's menu in the 80s, the sandwich was removed in 1986, and then temporarily re-introduced to Canadian restaurants in 2014.

"In the last year alone, our team received thousands of inquiries on social media from very passionate Canadian McRib fans asking to bring it back here," shared Alyssa Buetikofer, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald's Canada.

"The McRib is truly a fan favourite. It appeals to guests of all ages—from loyal followers who have patiently waited a decade for its return, to our newer fans who have only heard the legend."

The McRib isn't just a sandwich; it's a cultural phenomenon. Its uniquely delicious blend of sweet, tangy, and savoury flavours has captured the hearts and taste buds of Canadians across the country. Its comeback marks not only a culinary event but a nostalgic journey for those who have longed for its return.

Canadians can enjoy the McRib while it lasts by visiting participating McDonald's restaurants, through the McDonald's app, at the Drive-Thru or via McDelivery.
